Auditions for Fringe One-Act 'Positive'

  • MuCCC 142 Atlantic Avenue Rochester, NY, 14607 United States (map)

In a near future plagued by overpopulation, three prisoners with troubling medical conditions share a cramped cell. Tensions rise and fall as the forced intimacy of living in close proximity draws each of their stories unwillingly out into the open, challenging the certainty of who among them is a criminal and who is a victim. Written by Jess Meyer-Crosby, this one-act play intricately touches on many of today's timeliest issues by looking at them through an imagined lens of tomorrow.

Casting three actors, two men and one woman. Particularly seeking Black, Hispanic, Asian, and MENASA actors, but all racial and ethnic backgrounds are encouraged to audition. Please take the time to fill out the attached audition form if possible.

Auditions are Monday, June 18th at the MuCCC from 6-8pm with callbacks immediately following from 8-9:30.

Not divulging performance location since publishing performance details isn't permitted by the Fringe until mid-July. Rehearsals will be 2-3 times a week at Mountain Rise UCC in Perinton. Two performances back-to-back on the evening of Sunday, September 16th (the play is thirty minutes long) with the possibility of a longer run sometime in the fall.
